August 2024 - TaxSmart Cafe's August of Hope

TaxSmart Cafe is bringing back its August of Hope campaign for its second year. For every tax return filed, we'll donate $2, and for every new business, trust, or SMSF engaged, we'll contribute $50 to the Cancer Council. Together, we can make a difference. July 2024 - TaxSmart Cafe's Christmas in July

TaxSmart Cafe was able to raise $2,000 dollars as a proud beneficiary of Caritas Australia's Project Compassion for all future generations! For every tax return filed by TaxSmart Cafe, we would have donated $2 to support local charities. You can also visit our fundraising page here.

October is a special time at TaxSmart Cafe, as we dive into Financial Literacy Month. Our goal is to equip you with the tools and knowledge you need to manage your finances effectively.

TaxSmart Cafe Volunteering Christmas Party - Dec 2022

Making a difference during Christmas is what TaxSmart Cafe had in mind. Instead of the typical Christmas Party, the TaxSmart Cafe team and partners volunteered with FareShare last 12 December 2022 to help prepare meals for those who are having tough times in the community. The team had a HUGE output for one morning according to FareShare's manager of volunteer programs - all while having great fun and being lovely to work with per comment from the chef! In total, the team assembled and cooked 1176 egg and vegie pies, prepped 1/3 pallet of freshly harvested cauliflower to roast to make into vegie rolls, and cleaned and re-set the kitchen. There is currently a big demand for FareShare meals due to the effects of the pandemic, impacts of natural disasters such as flooding affecting many thousand of Victorians, and rise in the cost of living. Support such as "hands-on" volunteering is important in helping keep pace and providing frontline charities with needed meals for those facing hardships.
We at TaxSmart Cafe are happy that "hungry bellies will be filled because of the work" we have done with FareShare.

Looc, Romblon Philippines Entrepreneur of the Year - Oct 2022

Last 23rd October 2022 was a spectacular night of sumptuous food, fine music and beautiful smiles - all fitting for that evening's "Looc, Romblon Entrepreneur of the Year 2022" awarding ceremony in the Philippines. The event was hosted by Romulae Gadaoni Jr, TaxSmart Cafe's Director. As an accountant and entrepreneur in Australia, Romulae understands the challenges that entrepreneurs go through and the support they need when planning, starting and operating their businesses. Leveraging his own experience and those of the clients he work with, Romulae through TaxSmart Cafe has been actively enabling business owners to be successful. As part of TaxSmart Cafe's "You are not alone" campaign, Romulae brought those learnings to his hometown in Looc, Romblon. He kicked off the event with the well-received top ten reasons why businesses fail and have provided techniques to address those. The highlight of evening was the awarding of Looc, Romblon's Entrepreneur of the Year for 2022 award that was won by Mother Lily Handicraft - a local small business in Looc that produces well-made crafts using skills and expertise passed from one generation to another. They received a certificate and prizes to help with their business. That wonderful night might have passed but the impact on the attendees and the awardees is meant to last.

You are not Alone, You are AWESOME! - June 2022

Entrepreneurs can sometimes feel tired, overwhelmed and lonely especially as they go through different phases of their business. These emotions have been aggravated in recent times due to fast paced changes in the market and technology, the pandemic and natural disasters. As the backbone of the economy, they deserve all the support that they can get, although at times business owners find it hard or forget to ask for help. Thus TaxSmart Cafe, based on our own experience as a small business and those of our clients, have launched the "You are not Alone, You are Awesome!" campaign last June 2022. This campaign is aimed to acknowledge the hardwork, educate, connect and support aspiring and current entrepreneurs towards achieving their business and personal goals. It was kicked of by TaxSmart Cafe's Best of the Best (BOTB) Entrepreneur Awards 2022 and was officially launched during the BOTB 2022 After-Party at No35 Restaurant last 28 June 2022. Since then, TaxSmart Cafe has been conducting events to raise awareness on financial and entrepreneurial concepts, providing opportunities for business owners to network with each other, supporting business and community events, and providing free online content through social media.

Reaching out to 1 Million People in 10 Years - Dec 2021


  • TaxSmart Cafe launched its "1M in 10Y" initiative last December 2021. This initiative is aimed to reach out to 1,000,000 people in 10 years to empower them and transform their lives through tax and financial education. As of July 2023, TaxSmart Cafe has already conducted 55+ in-person (Melbourne and Sydney) and online seminars on the following topics:
  • Recipe for Financial Freedom - discusses tax minimisation masterclass, strategies for debt recycling, and how to pay your home loan in 10 years
  • Strategy for Property Investors - covers the basics of capital gains tax on property and negative gearing mistakes
  • Unpacking Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) - provides an overview and advantages of SMSF, and 10 common mistakes to avoid
  • Future-proof your Business - covers topics on business structure, asset protection, business health, digital strategy and cyber security
  • Starting your Business Right with TaxSmart Cafe - key strategies for those who are planning to start their own business and how to measure their success
  • Spice up your Business - presents the top ten reasons why businesses fail and how to enable businesses to succeed
